Acesulfame potassium was first discovered in 1967 by Hearst, Germany

In 1983 listed as the grade A "recognized safety level (GRAS)" food additive by JECFA and recommended daily average intake (ADI) 0-15 mg/kg.

In 1988, Acesulfame potassium was Approved by FDA for use in food

In 1998 FDA approved for use in soft drinks

At present, more than 90 countries have officially approved Acesulfame potassium for food, beverage, oral hygiene/cosmetics (for lipsticks, toothpastes and mouthwashes, etc.) and pharmaceuticals (for syrup preparations, sugar-coated tablets, bitter drug masking agents, etc).

Sweetness is 200 to 250 times that of sucrose. Acesulfame potassium is stable to light and heat (can withstand high temperatures of 225 °C), and has a wide pH range (stable in the range of PH2~10). It is one of the most stable sweeteners in the world. It does not react with other food ingredients or additives when used.

The sweetness is pure and strong, the sweetness taste bursts quickly and produces slight bitterness at high concentration. It has a clear taste improvement effect when used in combination with aspartame, which can slightly increase the sweetness multiple and mask the bitter taste. Acesulfame potassium is not metabolized or stored in the human body, and it is completely excreted from the urine in its original form.

Application:

• Acesulfame potassium can be used in bakery products, pastries, solid beverages, confectionery, jams, chewing gum, instant coffee, dairy products, jellies, puddings, sweeteners, etc.

• In the pharmaceutical industry, Acesulfame potassium is used as a source of sweeteners for syrup formulations, sugar-coated tablets, bitter drug masking agents, etc.

• In the cosmetics industry, Acesulfame potassium is used in a lipstick, toothpaste, mouthwash, etc.

• Acesulfame potassium is synergistic with other sweeteners, such as 1:1 for use with aspartame and 1:5 for cyclamate. When mixed, there is a significant synergistic effect, generally increasing by about 20% sweetness Degree, which helps to reduce production costs.

Acesulfame potassium can be used as sweetener in different fields according to its characteristics.

1) Fast filling beverage production line;

2) For the processing of high-temperature processed foods, such as baked cakes and confectionery, high-temperature sterilization, spray drying, extrusion and other food processing technology (not to exceed 225 °C);

3) For the production of fermented foods, such as bread, yoghurt and other foods;

4) For the production of low-sugar, sugar-free health foods, such as moon cakes and other substitute sugar stuffing food, low-sugar or sugar-free beverage filling production;

5) For the production of canned fruits and candied foods;

6) In the production and processing of agricultural, livestock and aquatic products, use it as as condiment to make the taste of salty and sour food more soft;

7) In the field of medicine and health products. Such as the improvement of bad taste of oral liquid, the sweetness source of health food and medicine, etc;

8) Liquid, solid and compound table sweeteners.
